Update: Friends of Belle-Rivière

As you probably know, the Sangha supports Belle-Rivière (BR) – a small, rural community in Haiti. Each year the BR community leaders request items that they believe are essential to remaining a functional community. Through the non-profit Friends of Belle-Rivière (http://www.fbrhaiti.org/) we try to meet those needs. This year the following items are being requested. *Please especially note those items which should be NEW.*

Needed items:

  • School Supplies (NEW pencils, wide-lined spiral notebooks, and blue ink ballpoint pens)
  • Kids shoes (New or Used but in good condition)
  • School Backpacks (New or Used but in good condition)
  • Women and Men’s Soccer Shoes (New or Used, but in good condition)
  • Sewing supplies (NEW cotton fabric and thread)
  • Canes and crutches (New or Used)

Please drop your donations at 4370 Cooper Rd., Indianapolis, 46228, or contact me for other arrangements, or for more information. The deadline for donating these items is Sunday, April 11. Please also note that cash is always welcome, and used to purchase items needed, but not donated. Friends of Belle-Rivière cover all administrative costs, so 100% of your donation goes to Belle-Rivière.

Thank you,

Update: Friends of Belle-Rivière

As many of you know, the Sangha supports a community in Haiti by sending school supplies, sewing supplies, solar equipment and other vital items to them annually.

This year we are loading the truck at noon on Tuesday, April 17.

It normally only takes about an hour, and most of the boxes are light. Our house is only about 5 minutes from Tak and Ingrid’s place.

Troy Chester has secured some people, but additional hands are always welcome.

See (or join) the Facebook group if you are interested in helping, or would like additional information.
